        After taking criminal justice courses and working for Pinkerton Security for a few years, Arnold Chace decided to start his own security company, Chase Security Patrol Services, Inc., in Maitland in 1987.

        Chase Security provides clients with on-site security and patrols at hotels, office buildings, apartment complexes, shopping centers and even construction sites.

        The security officers are licensed, bonded and insured, Chace says.  In addition, he runs background checks on potential employees.

        Chace says his secret to success is providing not just "bodies" but "good people," as well as dealing with problems that arise right away.

        After Sept. 11, companies have a heightened awareness about security, Chace says: "People are thinking more security and better security.  They are expecting more."
